Warszawa Wschodnia

Headed by one of the most famous Polish chefs, Mateusz Gessler, this restaurant offers you fine Polish dining with a French twist. It blends together modern restaurant quality and service with the atmosphere of a quaint French bistro in the cuisine and the decor. Make sure to book a table in advance!
Great for celebrations, dates, or company nights out.
Pyzy, Flaki Gorące
Address: ul. Podwale 5, ul. Brzeska 31
Budget: $
A tribute to the “good old days” of communism when women would cook pyzy (dumplings) at home, put them in jars, and then go out onto the streets and markets to sell them to hungry passersby. A large selection of both fillings and additions means you can never get bored. If it’s your first time, go for the most traditional meat pyzy with “skwarki” (fried, bacon fat pieces)—they’re amazing!
Perfect for families or a quick, budget-friendly bite to eat. Eat at the small bar or take it home in a jar!
Bar Mleczny - Prasowy
Address: ul. Marszałkowska 10/16
Budget: $
We chose Prasowy (established back in 1954), but visiting any milk bar in Warsaw is worth your time and taste buds. A wide range of good, old, traditional Polish dishes for a very wallet-friendly price. Try out pierogi, potato pancakes, beet soup, or a glass of kefir (sour milk). Milk bars tend to sell everything individually so you can mix and match to make the meal of your dreams.
Great for getting a bite to eat, family outings, or hanging out with friends.

They lean into Italian cooking, but have a few dishes that are more “international.”
